Breast Augmentation - FAQ
Am I a candidate for breast augmentation?
Any woman who wants larger breasts is a potential candidate for breast augmentation surgery. The most typical candidates are women who have smaller breasts than they would like, and women who have lost breast shape due to pregnancy and breast-feeding.
What is the procedure like?
The procedure varies based upon your body type and the size of the augmentation. Basically, an incision is made and an implant is inserted. The incision is typically made in one of three locations - under your breast, under your arm or through the areola. A saline breast implant is then inserted through the incision.
What type of implant is used?
Saline implants and gel implants are available. Breast implants come in a variety of shapes, sizes, texture, and material. To help you decide what type of breast implant is right for you, schedule an initial consultation with one of the doctors at Amin Plastic Surgery.
What size will my new breasts be?
This can only be determined during a consultation with Dr. Amin. The amount of breast augmentation or reduction required is based on your size, shape, and desires. The overall goal is to enhance or reduce your breasts while also maintaining a natural appearance.
What is recovery like?
Typical recovery time is about four to six weeks. During that time, you'll experience soreness, some fatigue, and you will have to wear a special support bra.
Will there be a scar?
While all patients are different, in the vast majority of cases there is no visible scar.
What results can I expect?
You can expect very natural looking breasts, which are the size you desired. Our experienced plastic surgeons will work with you beforehand to determine what size breasts will best fit your body structure.
For most patients, breast augmentation leads to improved confidence and increased self-esteem. And when you feel better about yourself, your life improves in other areas as well.
