Scars are what remains on the surface of the skin after a wound has healed. It can be difficult to predict how a scar will develop even as a result of a surgical procedure. Improper or poor healing of the skin after injury or surgery can lead to highly noticeable scars which are unsightly. Even proper healing of wounds can result in minor scars which still affect the appearance.
